Castleford City Council
City Council meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month
7 p.m. at the City Hall
The Castleford City Council meetings are open to the public. City Council meetings are for the Mayor and City Council to meet together in a public setting to review information, pay claims, discuss matters before the city, and to make decisions regarding laws and policies of the city.
All Castleford City Council Regular Meetings are scheduled for the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7p.m. at City Hall, 300 Main Street, Castleford.

Notices announcing all City Council meetings will be posted at the Castleford City Hall office, the City website, and the City of Castleford Facebook page. Regular meetings agendas are posted the Thursday prior to each meeting. Special Meeting agendas are posted at least 24 hours prior to the meeting. Minutes are available for the public after they have received council approval.
Per Idaho Code, a governing board (such as the City Council) may choose to exercise the powers of planning and zoning itself, or it can establish a separate planning and zoning commission. In Castleford, the City Council has retained this function. Final decisions on zoning changes, conditional use permits, and subdivision approvals are made directly by the City Council.
The community is encouraged to attend these meetings.

Castleford City Council consists of an elected mayor and four elected council members. City elections take place every two years in odd number years. Each council seat is a 4-year term unless appointed in the middle of a term. If a member of city council is appointed mid-term to fill a vacancy, that seat will be up for election at the next general election.
